2. A microgrid will collapse far more easily than a piece of a large Interconnection. Size matters, it's harder to stop a freight train than a truck. The believe the independent microgrids are more secure is actually incorrect. Having the ability to form a microgrid in an emergency is good planning
3. The talk about aging power systems is buzz talk. The power system has been maintained over all it's years. What is different is since deregulation we are asking it to do things we did not design it to do.
